It's time to pay up my yearly dues to Typepad for my blog. I think when I started I had the idea that it would be forum for my thoughts, and playback from my friends. It's been that at times, but I think most people have moved on....or in Janet's case passed on. Somehow it seems that I'm talking to myself except for Pattie. I hate to lose the pictures and posts, but as I get older I realized just how ephemeral all this stuff is....I mean, our lives, all that "stuff" that we collect and the dramas we indulge. I've not declaimed at length about my spiritual ideas, but the SRF teaching is to know this. And to know that the only Reality is God, and our own Soul that is a part of that. The things I rant about aren't ultimately important. Guruji said "Change yourself and you change thousands." As I tell my children constantly, and as my Mom often said, "Actions speak louder than words."
I think it's time to take SusanSkates into the sunset. It's been a good trip, and I appreciate the feedback that those who read have sent me...sometimes privately. I'll see you all at Olympic Trials in Marquette next month!
Susan, who is still skating slowly, but skating nevertheless!
Susan, who is still skating because ice is nice.........and speed is ephemeral too....
thanks for all your photos and thoughts......they help put perspective and reflection to the ephemeral.

I've been told actions do speak louder than words. I know I react differently to people whose actions are sincere than I do to people who talk well but whose actions contradict their talk.
Whether you decide to keep this blog or send it into the sunset, I hope you've gained from your time here and keep skating - fast or slow, doesn't matter.
